Present: Jan Mosher, President; Cory Bearor, Vice-President; Parish Atkinson; Denise Avallone; Kathy Felio; Heidi McIntosh and Tennille Schmitt
Also Present: Robert Finster, Superintendent/Elementary Principal; Eric Luther, MS/HS Principal; Sheryl Tuttle-Lamb, Curriculum Coordinator; Amy Frost, District Treasurer and Jolie Snider, District Clerk

1.0 President Jan Mosher called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. – Mrs. Moser asked for a moment of silence honoring those we lost on September 11, 2001.

2.0 RESOLVED to adopt a single resolution approving the following routine items:

2.1 Preliminary Actions & Business Operations
- Additions to and Approval of Agenda – 7.6 – Adding Dylan Finley as an Assistant
- Volunteer Boys Soccer Coach.
- Approval of Minutes – Regular Meeting – August 14, 2023

6.1 Superintendent’s Report – Mr. Finster introduced the new staff in attendance at tonight’s Board of Education meeting. Mrs. Mosher welcomed the new staff and thanked them for coming.

- Donald Snider, Head Custodian
- Amanda Zehr, Music Teacher (Choral)
  
  Mr. Finster stated he is still not happy with the condition of the baseball field. The contractors were here today and will be back tomorrow to work on the issues. He stated that Amy Frost’s office will be moved across the hall into Eric Schmitt’s old office and Jolie Snider will be moving into Amy Frost’s office once the audit is complete. He talked about the bus situation that occurred on the first day of school. There was confusion with bus notes and two new bus drivers. There were a few parents who did not send notes in with their children. However, all these issues have been rectified.

6.2 MS/HS Principal’s Report – Mr. Luther reported the start of school has went smoothly. Open House had a large turnout and was well received. Edulastic training has been taking place. This program replicates the computer-based testing that 3-8 students will have in their ELA, Math and Science exams. Mr. Luther stated we have lost a couple of classes on the master schedule due to low numbers.
6.3 Curriculum Coordinator’s Report – Mrs. Tuttle-Lamb has spent time coordinatingschedules with teachers, setting priorities and getting ELA curriculum aligned. Some of the teachers have submitted their pacing guides for their professional development. Leigh Stark will be holding Data Meetings. She has been making sure the teachers have the resources they need. AIS providers have been setting up digital folders and setting goals for the students.
6.4 Sports Merger – RESOLVED to adopt a resolution approving the Sports merger with Gouverneur Central School for boys all levels Cross Country to be held at Gouverneur Central School effective 8/21/2023 for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
